Inspiration
Mr. Phruepisit Unchong’s inspiration originated from his fascination with mural paintings, which beautifully convey cultural meanings through intricate patterns. His creativity was further sparked when he noticed leftover “fabric scraps” from weaving, inspiring him to merge both elements. He began experimenting by using fabric scraps as canvases, then applying “Jam Kham”, a hand-printing technique, onto the cloth using natural and non-toxic synthetic dyes. The results were unique works of textile art, which could be developed into clothing, bags, or home décor items—generating both cultural value and community income.
