After completing his military service, he moved to Bangkok, gaining valuable experience in the hotel industry before venturing into entrepreneurship. Starting with fruit sales and later grilled meatball stalls, he employed proactive marketing strategies that left lasting impressions and won the hearts of customers.
The true turning point came when he attended training programs organized by government agencies. It was then he recognized the potential of community-woven fabrics, which, despite their craftsmanship, lacked marketing development. Leveraging his knowledge, he transformed these local products, enhancing their quality and incorporating designs that appealed to modern consumers. This vision gave birth to the brand “Thewa Thai Textile.”
His success has extended beyond Thailand, reaching markets such as Japan, and attracting the attention of prominent organizations like King Power and Siam Piwat. This journey shifted his perspective from competition to collaboration, solidifying his role as an “upstream” producer committed to delivering quality products to downstream markets.
“Thewa Thai Textile ” is not just a brand—it is an inspiration for a new generation to think boldly, act decisively, and embrace change.
Operational Approach of the Academy
Empowering Communities – Elevating Handwoven Fabrics into Thai Fashion Innovation
Thewa Thai Textile Academy is more than just a learning center—it is a model for creative community development. It transforms the role of ordinary handwoven fabric producers into “Upstream Producers” who lay the foundation for uniquely identifiable Thai fabrics, delivering exceptional quality to designers and next-generation entrepreneurs.
The Academy distinguishes itself with signature patterns such as the “Chor Poom Sarika” design, and adopts the concept of “under-house factories” instead of building large-scale industrial facilities. By distributing production to households within the community, it generates circulating income and strengthens local economic sustainability.
Furthermore, the Academy elevates knowledge through the establishment of a comprehensive learning center that integrates both traditional and modern weaving expertise—from Khid weaving, Mudmee (ikat), and natural dyeing to eco-print techniques. This open platform invites everyone to learn, experience, and carry forward the heritage of Thai textiles with both quality and cultural value.
Highlights of the Academy
Thewa Thai Textile Academy stands as a model for entrepreneurs who live in harmony with local wisdom, creating fabrics that are not only beautiful but also rich in stories and distinctive identity—such as the “Chor Poom Salika” pattern. Guided by the concept of “under-house factories,” the Academy distributes weaving work to households, generating income and instilling pride in the community.
It has also established itself as a comprehensive learning center, passing on every step of the weaving process—from traditional techniques to modern innovations like eco-printing. Here, the Academy produces more than just fabric—it creates opportunities, knowledge, and inspiration to drive sustainable community growth.
