Inspiration
Inspiration… From Under the House to the Path of Weaving “Returning to my hometown, surrounded by family and the familiar atmosphere, felt like stepping back in time. I can still clearly recall the image of my grandmother sitting at the loom beneath the house—her hands holding the reed with steady confidence, her eyes filled with love for the fabric she wove. This image has been etched in my memory since childhood, becoming a calling I must carry forward. It is not merely about weaving cloth, but about preserving and passing down the invaluable local wisdom, so that future generations can see the roots and beauty of our ancestral heritage.”

Creating New Patterns with a Heart that Bridges Past and Present
Designing textile patterns is the soul of bringing woven fabric to life—not merely for visual beauty, but as a means of communicating the stories, roots, and identities of local communities. At Dewa Thai Fabric Academy, we value the thoughtful creation of new patterns, beginning with the study of traditional motifs rich in symbols, beliefs, and cultural narratives. These traditional elements are then blended with contemporary concepts to produce designs that are fresh yet still carry the essence of local heritage. One key technique is adapting indigenous patterns into modern design—simplifying the forms, balancing the color palette, and re-arranging motifs to suit everyday use, whether in fashion, clothing, home décor, or ceremonial gifts.

Opinion on the Preservation and Development of Local Textiles
“I would like to see training on weaving processes and approaches to enhancing the value of local woven products, as this would promote the preservation of local wisdom alongside creative and sustainable development.”
